GRAND RAPIDS, Minn. -- A 55-year-old Grand Rapids man was killed Friday, May 4, after his motorcycle rear-ended another Grand Rapids motorcyclist in Irondale Township in Crow Wing County. The crash occurred on Highway 210 between Brainerd and Crosby by the Deerwood Cutoff.

Steven James True, 63, was eastbound on his 2009 Harley-Davidson Road Street on Highway 210 at County Highway 12 at about 7:30 p.m. True braked hard and was rear-ended by Frank Joseph Westerlund on his 2017 Harley-Davidson Road Glide, the patrol said. Westerlund was killed in the crash.

True suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. Neither man was wearing a helmet and alcohol was a factor in the crash, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
