FARGO – Police here responded to a shooting at a north Fargo apartment late Thursday night, Jan. 11.

An officer on patrol was flagged down just before 11 p.m. Thursday while stopped in the 600 block of 10th Street North, according to a post on the Fargo Police Department’s Facebook page.

The man told the officer he had just been shot. While the officer was helping that man, a second victim approached with a head injury. Medics took both victims to the hospital.

Police said they determined the incident happened at an apartment in the 700 block of 10th Street North. That night, officers were seen investigating at an apartment building at 701 10th St. N.

The victims told police a man wearing a mask knocked on their door, forced his way into the unit and assaulted them after they opened the door. Conditions of the victims weren’t known, according to the Facebook post.

Police spokeswoman Jessica Schindeldecker said no additional information will be released about the incident at this time because it’s still an ongoing investigation.
