Sheriff's office seeks help in finding missing Douglas County man
ALEXANDRIA, Minn. — Authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing 79-year-old man who was last seen near his home here on the morning of Friday, May 4.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is trying to locate Eugene Torger Harstad, who was involved in a minor car crash later on Friday. He made a series of ATM withdrawals across west central Minnesota and bought fuel in Wahpeton, N.D., on Monday morning.
The most recent ping of Horstad’s phone was detected in Wilkin County. However, his phone is often turned off, the sheriff’s office said.
Harstad is 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, with greyish white hair and blue eyes. He may be driving a teal green 1998 Chevrolet Silverado, with Minnesota license plate 5454UUA.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office at (320) 762-8151.
