Cobbers drop baseball doubleheader against St. John's
COLLEGEVILLE, Minn.—St. John's swept Concordia 4-2 and 8-7 in eight innings Wednesday in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference baseball doubleheader at Becker Park.
In Game 1, Turner Storm hit a two-run home in the third inning to lead the Cobbers.
St. John's (21-5, 7-3 MIAC) scored four runs in the bottom of the first in Game 2, led by Michael Gruber's three-run double. The Johnnies added a run in each of the next three innings.
Concordia (12-13, 5-5 MIAC) came storming back in the seventh, scoring seven runs on seven hits. Eric Watt had two RBIs in the inning, while Brett Erickson, Alex Sames, Storm and Nate Leintz each had an RBI.
Gruber had an RBI single in the eighth inning to give St. John's the walk-off victory.
