Report: Wolves' Brunson resigns amid misconduct allegations

The Minnesota Timberwolves accepted the resignation of assistant coach Rick Brunson on Tuesday.

Brunson was facing allegations of misconduct toward several women while on the job, according to a report from The Athletic.

Brunson, 45, has been a member of the Timberwolves' coaching staff the past two seasons. He also previously worked under head coach Tom Thibodeau with the Chicago Bulls.

Brunson was charged with attempted criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual abuse, aggravated battery and domestic battery in 2014 following an incident with a female masseuse at a fitness center in Vernon Hills, Ill. He pleaded not guilty to all charges and was eventually acquitted.

Brunson is the father of Villanova's Jalen Brunson, who was named college basketball's player of the year last season.
