Bison women struggle in first round of NCAA golf regional

MADISON, Wis.—It wasn't the start the North Dakota State women's golf team was looking for in the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Regionals. The Bison shot 27-over-par and were in last place out of 18 teams after the first round.

Senior Natalie Roth had the best effort with a 4-over 76 at the University Ridge Golf Course in Madison. Virginia is leading the tournament at 9-under.

After Roth, junior Emma Groom carded a 78, freshman Taylor McCorkle a 79 and while freshman Alexis Thomas and sophomore Sierra Bennion each had 82s.
