Bison softball clinchs Summit League regular season championship

FARGO—The North Dakota State softball team clinched the program's seventh Summit League regular season championship with a 4-0 win over Western Illinois on Sunday.

Senior NDSU starting pitcher Jacquelyn Sertic (22-9) carried a perfect game into the seventh inning before allowing two hits. She finished with 13 strikeouts.

The Bison scored two runs in the fourth inning to take a 2-0 lead. Second baseman Zoe Stavrou extended NDSU's lead with a two-run home run in the fifth inning.

The Bison (30-17, 10-3 SL) earned a first-round bye in the league tournament as the No. 1 seed.
