Concordia's multis have strong first day of MIAC Championships

ST. OLAF, Minn.—Concordia College has multiple athletes in scoring position after the first day of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Thursday.

The Championships kicked off Thursday with the start of the Men's Decathlon and the Women's Heptathlon.

After day one of the decathlon, Matt Bye is in fourth with 3085 points, and Brett Brenden is in sixth with 2898 points. The decathlon will wrap up tomorrow with the 110 hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin, and the 1500.

On the women's side, Marissa Andersen is in fourth with 2430 points, and Carly Fornshell is in eighth with 2283 points. The heptathlon will finish tomorrow with the long jump, javelin, and the 800.
